RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
Dear Diary,

We are now in the boss' zone. The music has changed, there is an invisible wall that does not allow us to go back. We, no I am now waiting for the system to summon the boss. The ninja have merged into the background. My heart beats rapidly, I am barely able to write neatly due to the adrenaline running through my body.

With my back to the ninja, I find that I am crying. For what reason I don't know. Maybe it's the pressure, danger, the fact in circumstances such as this, I cannot return alive anymore. I want to curl up into a ball and cry out loud. But in front of all, I cannot. I must go on.

May this dungeon not classify me as prey.

Kita.

RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
As the battle system loaded up, it studied Kita...

Kita was from the Azami clan of Felinians, known for their battle strong members (and telekinetics on the main bloodline). This theory is supported by the fact that many of their members had black kitty ears in their half-human forms. The job class of a Felinian could be determined mostly by the colour of the fur on their ears. Whilst this isn't definite so to say, it enough to determine who and what you're up against. The colours of the ears and tail match each other, unless you're facing a catgirl who decided to have fun and dip their entire tail in paint.

Weapon wielders such as Kita tend to have black ears, making it apparent that others shouldn't attack them on a whim unless they want to die in a bloody mess. Magic casters, whilst fewer in number can be recognised by their sandy/orange kitty ears. They aren't as powerful as their human counterparts, but at least can cast small amounts of fog, light and dark. Fire is also one of the magics, but not practiced much, lest the whole forest burn down. White ears (such that the ones that Tinsel have) signify that the catgirl is a musical one and can potentially control a person's emotional state by playing the flute alone. Greys are usually those who build and maintain the living areas. Note that the fur colour of the kitty form may not represent the ear colour of when transformed. Similarly, the job class isn't set in stone. In addition, the fur colour is not hereditary. In the case where some fur colours have been mixed (such as becoming spotty or striped), the job class would be up to nature. Healing is considered a dark and forbidden art, but then that's not saying that it isn't regularly used behind your back.

The high ranking members of a clan tend to have extra markings added to them through the use of natural dyes. Markings are usually added to the arms for visibility. These posts are usually held by the male members and the leader is special in that a spell is cast so that the fur on the ears and tail appear as silver. Please keep in mind that emerging from glitter flowers all dusted in silver is not enough to deem one as the leader.

RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
As the battle system finished loading, Kita found herself in complete darkness. Whilst her own body was fully illuminated, nothing else was. Kita hoped taht the system hadn't crashed. What if she was stuck here forever? Kita opened up her menu but found that nothing was accessible to her. The item and spell sections were greyed out and she had no weapons.

Suddenly, a flash of light. The fur on Kita's black ears pricked up as she turned towards the sound. She found herself face to face with a female ghost who started to speak. But no sound came from the ghost's lips. Kita tried to lip read...

"Finally. You came after all these years. How I envy you. How I pity you." came the words from her lips.

Quicker than Kita's eyes could move, the ghost flew right past her and turned back to face her on the other side of the black field. Kita gasped from the pain and noticed that her HP had dropped. But unlike any of the previous battles, there was no blood - just lingering, stinging pain as if her flesh was being burned from the inside.

It was only now that Kita found that she had no traction - every step she tried to take would leave her in the same place. Or was the whole field moving with her. A jump attack was also as useless. Telekinetics had no effect.

The ghost attacked again, seemingly breaking the rules of battle.

"What are you? This is unfair" said Kita. Her voice echoed across the room repeatedly.

"If it were fair, no one would win"

Kita took off one of her hair pins and threw it like a dart towards the ghost, but it just flew right through and clattered to the ground.

The ghost flew across the field at blinding speed, cutting through Kita countless times, laughing as she did. In the end Kita was left almost lifeless on the floor. Kita's expression combined sadness, panic, frustration and confusion. Just what had happened? This can't be. She can't just die like this!

THIS CAN'T BE!

Kita's blood boiled as she gritted her teeth. The darkness around her seemed to respond.

RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
All Felinians, more commonly known as catboys and catgirls would be seen in the daytime, hunting and scavenging like elfs and whatnot. They lived peaceful lives in the forest, sure some would be fighting heroes and orcs, but they were just another race in the game.

But there was a hidden side to this that no one, not even the kings, not even the great evil lords knew. A secret to be forever known only by the vicious hunters of the night. When night approaches, the Felinians would take on a dangerous form, one with extended claws, extra fluffy ears, enhanced night vision and the ability to sense prey from far away. Blinding speed was a given, regeneration was a bonus. If werewolves were brothers of the night, the Felinians would be the sisters.

The Felinians would raid the hero towns, killing all within. The heroes would be asleep in their comfy beds, defenseless due to the systems' rules. The Felinians would come in through the windows and swiftly kill all heroes and other townsfolk - whoever is a potential threat.

All of this would be done without leaving a trace as the bodies are completely eaten by the werewolves, the blood vanishing at daybreak due to the backgrounds being reset. None have ever seen the blood splatters at night because none were awake.

Which is why adventurers would come to large towns which are empty. Towns with permanently blocked doors that never open. Dead cities with only one or two people wandering the streets. The Felinians were tactical with this. By only killing off the threats such as those who wielded weapons and powers, the rest would slowly die off without a source for offspring. This saved time and needless killing. The fun thing was that the remaining townsfolk and NPCs would only assume that those who have gone missing are out on adventures.

This wipeout tactic had proven successful as the hero population had dropped to below the hundreds. The reason behind all this was that the Felinians never liked the heroes invading their homes, destroying the forests so that they could build towns. It was a way for the Felinians to reestablish their homes.

Sure, the villains were on their side as well, indirectly helping to kill off the heroes. But when the hero population dies, the villains would be next on the list. Some Felinians have already started to put a few spies, anchors and probes in the villain areas. The aim was to gather information about how the villains worked, what their capabilities were and more importantly, what other villain army could be used to eliminate the current one.

The interesting thing was that the Felinians sent to these posts won't know about this motive. This motive was known only by the top ranking leaders. To keep things "simple and true" - both the Felinian probes and villains wouldn't know about any of this.

Then one day when the time comes, all probes will be recollected and every bit of information obtained from them - willingly or unwillingly.

Tinsels Song - Where is home?

Self written lyrics:

Where is my home
Where do I go now
Can you please tell me where I am right now

Where are you love
How do I find you
Or is this where I wait for you to come and find me

Will this be the day that we go home love

This wasn't exactly written to be in sync, but that's all I can do.

THIS CAN'T BE!

Kita's blood boiled as she gritted her teeth. The darkness around her seemed to respond.

Or maybe she was responding to it instead? Perhaps the area was so dark that it made her body believe that it was night? Or did her own body clock tell her that? No matter. Kita's body was now transforming to that of a true Felinian that hunts at night. She got extra fur around her ears and her tail became more fluffy. Sharp claws black as the night grew from her finger. In addition to face markings, she also gained deep cutting fangs. Her eyes now glowed an eerie orange to be used as a distraction from the claws. Kita placed all fours on the ground as she muttered a low, dangerous growl...

Kita's veins was now flowing with a supernatural energy, sometimes known as the Blood of Night. In actual fact, it was just an emotion - one that is felt only during nighttime, It was just another animal instinct, but it was enough to raise Kita's spiritual energy to match that of the ghost. Kita's body was now glowing orange.

But energy in itself wasn't enough. The ghost held back for a moment, but in the end attacked Kita the very same way, once again reducing Kita's health. Kita tried to attack and felt that her moves had landed but they caused no damage at all.

"Your skin is smooth and warm. I haven't felt that for a long time. Let me bathe in your blood. Dye myself red once again" were the words from the ghost.

Kita's heart beat rapidly. What was she to do? She could only take two more hits... Why can't she kill the ghost?

Yes, kill. Not attack.

Kill.

The ghost started to speed towards Kita again as Kita's attacks had no effect. But this time it was different. Kita didn't attack anymore. Instead, Kita caught the ghost and threw her into the ground. Now on top of the back of the ghost, Kita drove her claws deep into the neck, causing zero damage.

"Meow" said Kita as she grinned.

She drove her claws right through the ghost's neck, then clenched them tight around the spine. With all her might, she yanked hard, using her feet as additional leverage. The spine and the entire nerve system of the ghost came free with a sickening sound. The ghost may be immune to attacks, but the spine being torn out was another thing.

The ghost was now unable to move at all, only managing to whisper through silent lips.

"Finally. You came after all these years. How I envy you. What are you going to do to me now?"

"Not setting you free until you tell me where the lever is"

"The lever is the heart of the dungeon and I am it's source. A very long time ago, I was assigned this task - to create a dungeon and design the traps within. I was given people who would help me acheive this goal. However a requirement was to have this dungeon powered by our very souls. For years we have guarded this dungeon. The trap monsters fused with the souls of those who helped me. And I with the design. You're a trap designer too aren't you?"

"To an extent. Who was your master?"

"It doesn't matter anymore. We were eventually forgotten. Left to guard this place forever" went the lips of the ghost as she started to weep.

"You weren't forgotten. I'm here aren't I?"

"Yes... yes you are. I am the lever. After you kill me, my body will disappear, leaving the lever that... that will cost your life and bind you here like me. You will then take on my role till someone defeats you"

"And if no one comes?"

The ghost smiled sadly.

"I understand" said Kita as she reached into the brain of the ghost and crushed it. As expected a lever appeared.

In the room of complete darkness, Kita seemed to wait for what seemed like forever for the command to pull the lever. But it eventually came.

Kita brushed away a tear as she got up to pull the lever. The lever was incredibly hard to pull, as it drained her life for each inch it moved.

As Kita started to lose the last of her life, she whispered final words.

"I'm sorry Lexus"

RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
Many years ago, Kita believed in peace and that both humans and Felinians can live together. Lexus was her big brother who was very skilled in combat. It wasn't long before he was elected as the leader of their clan. Lexus was tall and well built, brave and tactical. Kita idolised him, always following him around, everything he said was true - there was no doubt about it. Lexus was always correct, if anything bad happened, Lexus isn't the one at fault. Kita did know how to wield weapons, but never really got good at it, simply because Lexus was always there to protect her.

But there came a time when the area was being ambushed by heroes. The heroes came in and killed all they could, using the most horrible weapons, drinking an endless supply of potions. In the heat of battle, one of the heroes found Kita and started to attack her. Kita tried to fight back, but it was no use. In the end, she was saved by Lexus, but during this Lexus had lost his left eye because he dived in to protect Kita from the hero's sword.

The clan managed to fend off the heroes, but Lexus wound could not be healed. Lexus' depth perception was now gone, he could no longer hunt like the best. He aim was always off. Lexus soon lost his position as the leader, along with tmost of the silver fur of leaders - the only thing left was a tiny outline that showed who he once was. Lexus started to fade into the background as everyone decided he wasn't worth the attention. And Kita blamed herself for this - if only she had known how to fight better, this would never had happened. Yes, the heroes were truly monsters that should be eliminated. Thus, Kita asked Lexus to teach her everything he knew, so she that could protect. From that day, Lexus taught Kita not only weaponry, stealth and martial arts, but also telekinetics - a very rare skill. But she still felt guilty.

The guilt became even worse when there was another hero ambush. The forest was set on fire, as the heroes hacked away. This time Kita was able to fend them off with her rage and fury. Yet, there was something that she couldn't kill - fire. The hut Lexus and Kita was in was burning fast and a started to collaspe. Quick as a flash, Lexus grabbed Kita and hurled her out the window, only to have himself crushed and burned. Even the body wasn't found, the only thing Kita had to remind her of him was his katanas.

Kita was then hit hard on the back of the head and fell unconcious. When she woke up, she was trapped in a cage made by the heroes. She didn't know what happend to the rest of the clan. The heroes were going to use her for target practice most likely. Kita managed to escape and kill all the heroes... Then she wandered around aimlessly, unable to find home.

One day, she came upon the Army of K.R.H.I.M.A. castle. It was nothing like home, but there was a flag at the top, one that looked so much like the Azami flag.

RE: Tinsel and Kita - Quest for Home
As the lever was locked into place, Kita's soul started to shimmer and disappear - she wasn't the designer of this place, so there was no reason for her soul to stay. Kita wondered what the afterlife was like if a catgirl like her cannot find home. She also wandered what the Army of K.R.H.I.M.A. would do without her. Maybe they might not notice at all. There was so many things she hadn't done, but what can she do? As Kita completely disappeared, the room fell very silent... as a catgirl watched from afar.

The catgirl picked up Kita's katanas and examined them along with the diary. The catgirl had an orange ponytail, black kitty ears and tail, a dress that was black on the top and pink on the bottom. Arm gloves that reached above her elbows. Leggings underneath her skirt.

The catgirl quizzically looked at the diary then putting her hand onto it, both the diary and her were bathed in glittering light. Memories, emotions, plans, dreams and goals completely filled her mind.

As the light faded away, the catgirl tightened the katana belt around her - it fitted perfectly.

"So I'm the fifth one, eh?"

Flashback Complete - we return to the present, where Kita is sleeping on her bed inside the Army of K.H.R.I.M.A. Castle.

The well built figure, Lexus, noticed that there was no diary entry after the one before the battle. He sighed, then looking once more towards the bed with the sleeping "Kita", he noticed the subtle differences and then he left.

Cats did always have nine lives.
